Harry Potter – Hogwarts Legacy: which version you should pre-order

Harry Potter: Hogwarts Legacy special edition pre-orders start today, and for everyone considering to pre-order here’s a brief overview of editions. The game has been delayed to release in February 2023, but you can pre order the game beginning today.

Standard Edition

The default edition comes with just the game, either as digital download or physical copy. It will be available for PC, PS4, PS5, XBOX One, XBOX Series X and Nintendo Switch. When you pre-order the game for PS4 or PS5, you’ll get the Felix Felicis Potion Recipe. There is also an Exclusive Quest: You don’t need to pre-order to get access to the PlayStation exclusive quest, you only need to buy it for a PS4 or PS5*. Hogwarts Legacy’s official twitter account clarified that today.

Pre-ordering the game through amazon will also give you a price guarantee. Currently the announced retail price for the PS5 and XBOX Series X versions are $74,99 / 74,99 EUR. Amazon currently has it listed for $5 cheaper. Link to pre-order on Amazon*

Digital Deluxe Edition

The Digital Deluxe Edition comes with the full game and some digital goodies. You get the Dark Arts cosmetic set, which includes various Dark Arts cosmetics, the ability to ride Thestrals, and a special Dark Arts Battle Arena. Special to this deluxe edition is the Dark Arts Garrison Hat, it will not be available in the physical deluxe edition. This pack will be the only way to ride Thestrals in Harry Potter: Hogwarts Legacy. You will also receive 72 hours early access, as with all the pre-order special editions. The Thestral won’t be the only special mount you get, there will also be the Onyx Hippogriff you’ll be able to fly with. A nice treat is the cross-gen update: if you buy the PS4 version, you can upgrade to the PS5 version for free, same with XBOX One and Series X. The Deluxe Edition costs $69.99 on PC and consoles, with PS5 and Xbox Series S/X variants costing $79.99

Deluxe Edition

The Harry Potter: Hogwarts Legacy physical deluxe edition contains all elements of the digital deluxe edition, except for the Dark Arts Garrison Hat and Cross-Gen Upgrade.

Collectors Edition

Last but not least we have the biggest and most expensive edition: The Collector’s Edition, which costs $299.99 for PlayStation 5 and $289.99 for Xbox Series S/X. It comes with an impressive life-sized floating wand and book base, which you can see in action here:
